Freedom is Knocking

Everyone seeks freedom from something or someone in this world. Whether it's liberation from an abusive relationship, depression, addiction, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts, we strive for it, yet we often find it difficult to achieve.

What is Freedom?

The dictionary defines freedom as a state of not being imprisoned or enslaved. It involves having the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wishes. Imagine having the freedom to take charge of your life. What if I told you that it is possible to live in freedom? Would you want to experience it?

Is it possible to walk in freedom? The answer is an unequivocal yes! We can walk in freedom, but not on our own terms; we must seek the assistance of Jesus Christ. If you believe in Jesus and grasp His teachings, you know that God sent His Son into this world for our freedom. Galatians 5:13 states, "You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom as an excuse to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love."

We have already been set free, yet many of us continue to struggle emotionally with fear, anxiety, rejection, loneliness, depression, discouragement, and past hurts. Some may be facing physical bondage through illness that hinders them from achieving wholeness and excellent health. We rise to fight, only to fall again. Lust, greed, envy, jealousy, unforgiveness, and dishonoring others are our everyday struggles, and this is precisely what our enemy, Satan, desires. He seeks to deceive us, causing us to suffer the consequences of this bondage.

John 10:10 states, "The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy." The devil's intention is to enslave us, but there is good news: Christ came so that we may have life and have it to the fullest. Christ holds the keys to the prison doors, and through His death and resurrection, those doors have been left open, granting us freedom. However, we must be brave enough to escape whatever prison we find ourselves in.

Freedom is calling you. Are you ready to break free from your confines and fully embrace the liberation for which Christ sacrificed Himself? Regardless of your current situation, God is ready to grant you freedom! Will you embark on a journey to uncover the remarkable truth that God has provided to help you conquer anything that stands in the way of living in true freedom?

Where does freedom begin?

Your freedom begins with recognizing that Jesus Christ has set you free. Today marks the start of your journey to freedom through acceptance and knowledge of Him. As humans, none of us have fulfilled God's desires. The Bible teaches us that sin means missing the mark, which signifies our inability to live holy and perfect lives. Romans 3:23 tells us, "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." However, the good news is that Jesus Christ loves you deeply; He came not to condemn but to save and liberate you. Out of His immense love for you, He bore the weight of sin on the cross, breaking the chains of sin's penalty and power. Your path to freedom begins with accepting God's forgiveness and receiving Jesus Christ through faith. Galatians 5:1 says, "It was for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Make the choice today and choose freedom.
